Tabby/Plain Weave
Tabby weave, also know as plain weave, is the simplest and most common of the basic weaves. It is made by passing each weft yarn over and under each warp yarn, with each row alternating. You can get fancy with Tabby Weave — using 2 colors, skipping over 2 warp thread instead of 1 to make a pattern — but just using “Plain Old Tabby” works great also. You can use it to secure a section or make a shape. Play around with Tabby. She is actually not that boring!
