A Creative Way to Give Cash — Money Origami Frog
Most people love to receive cash as a gift. Whatever your age or the special event — birthday, graduation, wedding — cash is always appreciated. Now, just receiving a wad of cash isn’t that exciting, so why not give your cash in the shape of a money origami frog that can actually hop?!! What? I first learned how to make an origami frog at summer camp when I was in grade school. It has become my most well-know talent. I make frogs out of newspapers, school programs, napkins and now money! Good luck and happy gift-giving!!
What you will need:
- Cash
- Paper
- Pen
- Scissors
- Tape
- Gift box
- Ribbon
- Patience 🙂
Instructions:
1. First, go to the bank and get some cash. Then watch this video on how to make a money origami frog. Be patient. I promise once you get this down, you will never forget how to do it. If you happen to forget how to do it, then come back and visit me so I can remind you.

2. Once you have your frog, write a small note in the shape of the frog’s tongue and using a small piece of tape, tape your witty message under your frog’s head.
My gift was for my nephew’s 18th birthday. The message was: “Here’s a little $ as you LEAP into adulthood!”
Some other messages you might use are:
For a wedding: “Taking the LEAP is more fun together! Congrats!”
For a graduation: “Here’s a little $ as you LEAP off to college!”
For a birthday: “Here’s LEAPING at you, kid! Happy Birthday!”
3. Place your cash (if you have more than the frog) into a cute gift box and place your money frog on top along with the lid.
4. Tie a fun ribbon around your gift.
Once your unique cash gift is received, you will be crowned the most creative and coolest gift-giver EVAH!
