7 Beauty Finds for 40+ Women

7 Beauty Finds for 40+ Women

I’m BACK! I kind of stepped away from the blog for a bit while I was weaving (check out my SHOP) and just doing life. I’m hoping to start posting more so stay tuned!

During this last year of lock-downs and covid scares, I decided to test a few beauty products out while I was stuck at home. Now that I’m getting older, my skin is changing. It gets dryer faster and I find that powders make my fine lines pop, which I don’t want! With a little research and some trial and error, I’ve found some products that 1. Work on my “aging gracefully” face. 2. Won’t break the bank. 3. Are easy to use. A WIN, WIN, WIN if you ask me!

1. The Not-Foundation Foundation

I’m not a big fan of foundation. I haven’t found one light enough, but still has some coverage…until now! Meet the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector Tinted Facial Moisturizer and Retinol Treatment with Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen with Titanium Dioxide. This not-foundation foundation, goes on smooth and evens out your skin tone while shrinking fine lines. A little dab will do ya!

2. Magic Under Eye (and Anywhere Else) Concealer

Recently, I’ve started to notice that my old concealer was making the fine lines under my eyes more pronounced. That is not what is supposed to happen! I did some research and stumbled upon this Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Multi-Use Concealer. When they say “multi-use” they mean it. This stuff is magic as an under eye concealer and anywhere you need it concealer!!!

3. Cheeks, Eyes and Lips, Oh My!

I used to use powdered bronzer and blush, which just seemed to accentuated the fine lines on my face. Boo! I have since discovered creamy stick technology, a 40+ person’s dream come true! These creme-to-powder sticks easily blend, then sets to powder and stays put! No brushes required, just use your fingers to blend. What is great is you can use these on your cheeks, lips and eyes. Multi-tasking at it’s finest!

For my bronzer/contouring/sculpting, I use the Julep Skip The Brush Crème To Powder Cream Blush Stick For Cheeks, Eyes & Lips in Warm Bronze.

For my blush/cheeks, I use Julep Skip The Brush Crème To Powder Cream Blush Stick For Cheeks, Eyes & Lips, Peony Pink.

4. Fountain of Youth Highlighter Stick

Do you want to swipe 5 years off your face? Use a highlighter to give yourself that dewy, youthful glow. I bought this Highlighter Stick, NICEFACE Shimmer Cream Powder Waterproof Light Face Cosmetics ( 2 colors ) off of Amazon and especially love the 01 Pink Shimmer. Just swipe on and blend with your fingers!

5. Stay All Day Eye Shadow Stick

Yes, they make eye shadows in stick form too!! This easy to apply creme-to-powder shadow is waterproof and crease proof. Perfect for busy women, especially me when I’m teaching Barre at the gym. I don’t have to worry about looking like a raccoon when I get my sweat on. There are lots of colors to choose from. My first and favorite so far is Julep Eyeshadow 101 Crème to Powder Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Taupe Shimmer.

6. FAN-tastic, Non-Clumpy Mascara

I was in the market for a new mascara. I started reading reviews on Amazon and came across Maybelline Lash Sensational Washable Mascara. I bought it and I love it! It goes on easy – no clumping. The curved brush really fans-out your lashes and applies the mascara evenly leaving long, FAN-tastic lashes.

7. Irritation Free Eyelash Growth Serum

I’ve used a couple different eyelash growth serums through the years, but when I started using this one (EssyNaturals Eyelash and Brow Growth Serum Irritation Free Formula – ‘Dermatologist Certified’ – Guaranteed Results in Just 3-4 Weeks for Longer, Thicker, and Fuller Eyelashes) I noticed I didn’t have any side effects like I did with the other serums. When people started to comment on my long lashes and wanting to know what I used, I knew I was on to something. This is the most expensive thing in my make-up bag (around $28), but it lasts a long time and the results are worth it!

And that’s a wrap! I would love to hear from you all on what new and exciting beauty products you have found. Leave a comment or message me. What a crazy year we have been through!!
